Cunard and the Queens with Chris Frame

30 April at 10.30 am - 11.30 am

Event Categories:

Join us on an image packed journey into the past to learn about the transatlantic race that resulted in the construction of the original Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth.

This fast-paced and engaging talk details how and why the Cunard Queens were built, their impact on Britain’s recovery from the Great Depression and their outstanding military service during World War II.

Maritime Historian Chris Frame traces the various links between Cunard and the Queens, their contribution to the boom in tourism and commerce in the 1940s and 1950s, as well as their decline and eventual retirement.

With wonderful historic video of both ships being launched, this session is not to be missed!
